Thursday night was unique as the Irish Life Experience students were able to help Waterford kick off the Tall Ships Races. Every six years, Waterford hosts Ireland's biggest quayside festival ever. The city will be filled with non-stop entertainment until Sunday. Students have been able to partake in the schedule of events, including being able to explore an interactive craft village, a fantastic fringe festival, treat themselves to a sumptuous food village, and listen to music at four live stages. Not to mention, being able to observe fifty of the most magnificent Tall Ships that will be berthed in the heart of the city. What an incredible once in a lifetime opportunity. Around 11 PM, we were even able to watch a beautiful display of fireworks, just in time for July 4th! Kelsey said she enjoyed how lively the town is with the Tall Ships Races. Edel added that she loved how beautiful the River Suir was with all of ships. It's a great atmosphere and students will be taking full advantage of everything until Sunday.
