Siobhán Kennedy here from Winchester, MA, eager and excited to spend an unforgettable summer in Ireland! I am a recent graduate from Providence College with a degree in English and secondary studies in Sociology and Business. As the youngest of three girls in a pure-bred Irish household, I am the last of the Kennedy Clan to join Taryn as a Counselor after following her through the cobbles, cottages, and peat on my own summer excursion across the pond in 2005. In my junior year I studied abroad in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and though it wasn’t Waterford, Dublin, or Galway, I still had the time of my life. On top of my studying in Stellenbosch, I coached a boy’s High School basketball team and was a pre-primary school teacher’s assistant in the Kayamandi Township. Living in the heart of the winelands of South Africa, I quickly jumped on board with the University’s Wine Society all in the name of cultural immersion. After Ireland, I intend to cash in on my Irish passport and move to Australia for a few years and let the US economy right itself while I’m away. I cannot wait to meet what will be a stellar group this summer. Let the adventure begin!
