Greetings from Galway

Hello Irish Life Experience Families and Friends, Just a quick hello from Galway. This morning we said slán agaibh to Dublin and our Irish and Italian friends at King's Hospital and began our drive to Galway for the last few days of the Irish Life Experience. I can't believe how fast this month has flown by-it seems like yesterday we were saying hello at JFK and pretty soon we will be saying good-bye. Everyone seems to be getting a little sad, because no one wants to leave Ireland and our new ILE family:(. Our dear friend, Brian Farrell of Burren Coaches drove us to Galway and will be our chauffeur and an honorary ILE Counselor until Thursday. Our bus journey consisted of a few sing songs by the staff and a couple of jokes from Brian. With Galway in our sights, we began singing Galway Girl and Galway to Graceland. How appropriate;). We arrived Gort na Coiribe around 2:00 PM and the students were able to get settled in their beautiful apartments. They absolutely LOVE it here. We gave them a stipend for groceries for the week, so each apartment has pooled their money together to buy food. Tonight I enjoyed watching the students play grown-up and cook for each other. They are taking turns preparing meals for the whole group and everyone is responsible for bringing a dish every night. Tonight it was Italian, a specialty for Caitlyn, Clara, Hannah, Maureen, and Piper. Complete with a salad from Erin, Katie, Riley, and Scarlett. Garlic Bread from Joe and Paddy and chocolate cake from Caitlin, Dakota, Savannah, and Sydney. It smelled wonderful and they even gave me a slice of chocolate cake. I believe tomorrow might be Mexican-my favorite. The students are all sound asleep and are looking forward to our first tour along the west coast of Ireland-the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, and the Dolmen. It should be a fantastic day.
