On Friday, the Irish Life Experience spent the majority of the day working and practicing on their Drama Presentations. In the afternoon, we had an impromptu game of volleyball led by Pete and Siobhan. Shortly thereafter, we had a special guest join us to talk to the ILE students about going to college-either for a semester, year, or full four years. Siobhan Smith, a former student of Taryn's, recently graduated with a business degree from DCU in Dublin. She has lived in Ireland since 2005 and is now performing for gigs around the country and in other parts of Europe. She happily shared the process of how to apply to college in Ireland and the differences between Ireland and the US. She answered questions from the students and encouraged them to study abroad, as she said it was an incredible experience. Following Siobhan's discussion with the students, Taryn had one final optional workshop for the students. A few joined her and painted gorgeous shamrock holders with Celtic designs. The students are so artistic! Since it was our last night at King's Hospital, they treated us to a proper barbeque of hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers. It was delicious and a perfect way to end our stay in Dublin.
