Some more pictures for you to enjoy. A few are from the Scone Workshop, which was a blast, but as you can see..., the students were caked in flour. We had a total of 36 scones to eat and share with friends afterwards. They turned out well, but Jordan thought we needed to add more sugar. The Talent Show was a huge success, as we were all impressed with the student's talents. Pete and Ty played a few songs for us on the guitar and violin and Cailin, Eileen, Grace, and Kelsey prepared a wonderful Irish dance for us. Very cool! The students watched the movie, Michael Collins today in class and loved it! "I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of the places of significance in Dublin, that I saw in the movie," Cliff said. It's pouring rain today, so many students signed up for Kendall's St. Brigid Workshop and Pete's Music Workshop. The St. Brigid's Crosses were made out of pipe cleaners and were very colorful. Notice Cailin showing off her cross in the picture. Kendall said that Cara had the best St. Brigid's Cross. Nice job Cara! St. Brigid's crosses are associated with Brigid of Kildare and if they are hung up in your house, they will protect it against evil and fire. Tomorrow, we are packing up and leaving our home of Newtown Boarding School in Waterford and heading to Gort na Coiribe in Galway. Waterford has been a wonderful place to start the ILE journey and we will miss the people here, but we are looking forward to seeing more of Ireland. Tomorrow, on our way to Galway, we will also be stopping at Croke Park in Dublin for the Leinster Finals-which is a big treat for all of us! Since Teacher Dan is from Dublin, he has convinced all of us to cheer for Dublin and not Kildare, so I'm sure we will be all dressed up in are blue colors tomorrow. UP DUBLIN! We will talk to you from Galway!
